| American Historical Society of Germans from Russia (AHSGR) - Greater Seattle Chapter | The American Historical Society of Germans from Russia is an international, non-profit educational organization. The group's purpose is to bring together people interested in the history of Germans from Russia, and promote a better appreciation of their history and preservation of the culture. The Greater Seattle Chapter has been active in furthering the goals of AHSGR on the local level since being founded in 1975. The Chapter hosted the annual AHSGR National Convention in 1979 and in 1992 co-hosted the convention with the Rainier Chapter located in Tacoma, Washington. |

Professional Genealogists (APG) - Puget Sound Chapter |
APG is an independent organization whose principal purpose is to support professional genealogists in all phases of their work: from the amateur genealogist wishing to turn knowledge and skill into a vocation, to the experienced professional seeking to exchange ideas with colleagues and to upgrade the profession as a whole. The association also seeks to protect the interest of those engaging the services of the professional. |

The DAR is a lineage society for descendants of those who aided in achieving American independence. The society maintains a genealogical records collection at the Seattle Public Library, and other libraries. |

DearMYRTLE is the nom de plume of Pat Richley, author of
THE EVERYTHING ONLINE GENEALOGY BOOK (2001) and DearMYRTLE's JOY OF GENEALOGY (2006). Myrt is a retired software instructor, has written an free online genealogy column since 1995, and regularly contributes to Everton's Genealogical Helper Magazine. |

It obtains and provides resources for use by members, encourages genealogical research and documentation and aids in organizing and computerizing local records related to genealogy. |
| FamilySearch Indexing | FamilySearch Indexing is a project sponsored by FamilySearch.org, where volunteers extract family history information from digital images of historical documents to create searchable indexes that assist everyone in finding their ancestors. |
| Fiske Genealogical Library | The Fiske Genealogical Library has many of genealogical materials not readily available, especially for those townships east of the Mississippi River. |
| German Interest Group (EGS) | This is the German SIG of the Eastside Genealogical Society. |
| Godfrey Memorial Library | The Godfrey Memorial Library, located in Connecticut, maintains an online database of information, which is now accessible from all Family History Libraries. |
| Irish Holiday Extraction Program | The Irish Holiday Extraction Program performs extraction of Irish records. Volunteer couples are invited to come to Ireland and have a holiday, and also help with the extraction of the records there. Couples rent a room in a house with a complete kitchen, central heating, laundry facilities and broadband available. It is a fantastic opportunity for people who have Irish ancestry and would love to visit reland and help out. |

| Magna Charta Dames & Barons | The Magna Charta Dames and Barons is a lineage society for descendents of any of the influential persons relating to the Magna Charta in 1215. |
| National Archives and Records Administration (NARA) | The National Archives maintains retired records from Federal agencies and courts in Idaho, Oregon, and Washington. The Seattle facility has extensive microfilm holdings of value for genealogy research. |
| Puget Sound Regional Archives | The Puget Sound Regional Branch provides a variety of resources to aid you in your genealogy research, as well as an Online Census Search. |
| Scandinavian Interest Group (EGS) | This is the Scandinavian SIG of the Eastside Genealogical Society. |
| Seattle Genealogical Society (SGS) | The Seattle Genealogical Society maintains a research library, publishes a bulletin and newsletter, and sponsors a wide range of educational activities and events. It also has several Special Interest Groups with additional meetings and events. The SGS library has an outstanding genealogical collection: some of the materials are not available elsewhere in the west. SGS makes available books, pamphlets, periodicals, and data CD's for researching various parts of the United States and other countries as well. Computers and a wireless Internet connection are also available for researchers. Periodically, the Society publishes resource materials. Members are encouraged to visit the library often, to share their skills and expertise, to meet new people and expand their own genealogical horizons. All members of SGS have unlimited access to the library. |

The nationwide UDC collects and preserves rare books, documents, diaries, letters, personal records, and other papers of historical importance relating to the period 1861 to 1865. |
