Dr. Lorraine McConaghy earned her Ph.D. in History from the University of Washington, and has been at the Museum of History & Industry (MOHAI) since 1997.  She serves as lead historian for MOHAI programs, publications and exhibits, and also frequently teaches and lectures in the community on History and Genealogy.  The author of several books, Dr. McConaghy combines vast knowledge of the past with enthusiasm for sharing her love of history with others through accessible, interesting programs.

She will be returning in October from the National Archives where she has been researching the first image ever of Seattle, a sketch drawn by a 21 year old lieutenant 150 years ago aboard the first U.S. Navy warship to ply the waters of Puget Sound.
